Which VW have the most badass horsepower in 2024?

VW cars are quite a tough guy. You know, the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas has a new 4cyl engine with 269 horsepower and 273 poundfeet of torque. Also, the Golf R makes 315 horsepower and 310 poundfeet of torque.
Don't forget that the transmission is the same bad unit as in 2021 - 2023
what do you think?
 
i think you need some facts to see the clear picture. the engines are more or less the same with the golf having a tuned one to get more power and even thouhg its the same model engine they get upgrades and improvements so it should hold well. the same goes for the transmission. i believe the problematic ones are up to 2023 so for 2024 and forward they should be beter i hope
 
Yeah as much as vw's got some great power figures, that transmission sticking around is a bit of a letdown. The new 4 cylinder in the atlas sounds promising on paper, but if it's still paired with that same problematic transmission from '21 to'23, reliability concerns aren't going anywhere. as for the golf R, 315 hp is great, but I'd rather see them refine the DSG or offer a manual that doesn't feel like an afterthought, vw keeps making power gains, but what's the point if the drivetrain can't keep up?, oh well

Hmm, well you have a point bringing the transmission issue from '21-'23. I guess the problem with that is that they're just gonna keep losing market if they continue "unresolving" issues. But those engines you mentioned are powerful so... I guess, what are people willing to risk is the right question.

The numbers sound great on paper, good output from the new 4 cylinder but if they're still pairing it with that clunky transmission from previous years, it feels like they're holding back their own potential. VW builds capable cars, but it's annoying when familiar flaws carry over like this
