VW extended warranty worth it?

Just got a '22 Atlas SEL with 40k miles. The dealership's trying to get me to buy their Platinum Extended Warranty. I'm wondering what others have paid for it, if you can haggle the price, and if anyone's actually used it. Trying to make a smart choice before I sign anything

My neighbor went through the same thing with his 2021 Atlas.
He said the price they first gave him was way too high, something like $4k or $5k but he told them he wanted to think it over and shopped around a bit.
He ended up getting a quote from a different VW dealer for a lot less and went back to his original one to see if they'd match it.
They did, so yeah, you can definitely haggle it down!
He said it was worth it for the peace of mind, especially with some of the expensive electrical components in these newer cars.
He hasn't had any big issues yet, but it's a bet against future repairs, and he'd rather not have to worry about a huge bill.

On a 2022 Atlas at 40k, the Platinum warranty is usually negotiable. Repairs can get pricey but many owners skip it and self-insure unless they really want predictable coverage.
