i have a 2019 Atlas SE and love it overall but the front right passenger seat doesn't have a height adjustment which is an issue for my wife. she sits too low and gets car sick. I noticed the 2020 model has a manual height adjustment so VW "fixed" it after I bought mine. i tried calling dealers and even VW corporate to see if I could swap a 2020 seat base into my 2019 but I couldn't get a clear answer. one dealer offered to sell me a base for $800 plus other parts, with no guarantee it would work. i ended up ordering a complete 2020 Atlas SE seat with the height adjustment from eBay. has anyone successfully swapped a 2020 seat into a 2018 or 2019?

Hey... how much did this eBay solution cost? Can you share a link? I am not likin' the height of the passenger seat so just want to ask and piggyback here if there's a way to raise the seats permanently? My swivel chair works better than this.

you probably could've done a bit of research to spare you a potential headacke. there is a chance that the holes in the frame won't line up if vw decided to change something from 2019 to 2020, it can happen. also, you'll need to be mindful of any connectors and if they are identical or there is a change. ideally, everything would be plug and play and be done in half an hour. on the other hand, if it's not smooth sailing you'll struggle but there are several ways to make it work

Thanks for the heads up! this is actually quite useful. was thinking of doing this but good thing I found this forum first

I completely understand why that would be annoying,my partner feels the same about low seats. It's a great idea to pick up the 2020 seat from eBay. From what I've noticed, the mounts and plugs are quite similar between the 2019 and 2020 models, so it should fit well, though you may need to transfer a sensor or two. I'd really love to hear how the swap turns out once you give it a shot

While I haven't personally done that exact swap in a 2018/2019 Atlas, i think it should work since the chassis and interior layout are very similar between those years. and the 2020 refresh doesn't have a major difference either.
