Remote start issue

I just bought a new 2023 Atlas Highline last 4 months, and I've noticed a weird issue with the remote start. It works inconsistently, sometimes the car starts up fine, but other times, nothing happens even though the key fob's light blinks like it sent the signal. I checked the battery in the fob, and it's fine. The dealer told me it's probably a software issue, but they don't have a fix at the moment. In freezing winters where it gets down to 104 F, I really rely on remote start, so this is frustrating.
Has anyone else had issues with remote start not working reliably? Any suggestions on resets, fixes, or things to check before I go back to the dealer?

you should try to make sure your ACC is all the way off before shutting the car off. It makes the computer weird. It works when the same issue happened to me

i got a 2023 atlas too and my remote start acts up sometimes. it fails when its super cold out. i found turning the car on and off with the key then trying the remote again works half the time. maybe try that before heading back to the dealer.

Ok, you checked everything big, yes. But you didn't really check the most basic ones. CEL? Low fuel? Low washer fluid? Any door/compartment open? Please have a quick run through then get back to us maybe.

That's really frustrating, especially with those temperatuers. Some people have found it helpful to double-check that all the doors and the hood are completely closed, or even try pulling the battery to reset the system. If the fob's battery is new and it's still acting up, it looks like you'll be waiting for that software fix, hopefully, they'll get it out soon

It seems like there are a few possible reasons for that problem. First, give replacing the fob battery a shot, sometimes it can blink but still not have enough power to send a strong signal. Also, take a look to see if any warning lights are on or if cruise control was activated when you turned it off, as that might be a factor. Since it's still under warranty, be sure to reach out to the dealer. They might be able to provide a software update or check the Car-Net module

Hey thanks for the suggestion but I already tried that before bringing it here and it was a no no

Could be a software glitch or maybe like a sensor delay. Some found that locking the car twice before hitting remote start improves reliability. Unfortunately, if its a known software issue, there might not be a permanent fix yet, but a dealer software update (once available) should eventually sort it out
